You decide to take up a sponsorship for one or more children at the Tibetan Children's Villages - or - you would like to make a one-time donation and support whatever is considered as high priority by the leaders of the TCV.

The cost of a sponsorship for a child is EUR 320.00 or CHF 480.00 per year

You have decided to take up a sponsorship and proceed as follows:

You have chosen a specific child under the section "Sponsors wanted --> Searching" and fill out the Application-Form. The field "Remarks" requires the name of the chosen child.

Shortly after I receive your application-form, you will get the CV and the photo of "your" child, together with the dossier, you will be getting an information-letter - explaining everything from the payment to the eventual direct contact with your child. 2-3 weeks after your payment you will receive a confirmation and the latest news of your child directly from Dharamsala.

Since the flood of refugees is getting bigger and bigger, the TCV's could not host all these children any longer. A new solution was to be found. H.H. the Dalai Lama introduced and implemented the so called "Outreach Program". All children, having the possibility to find a shelter, provided by their parents or relatives, would not live at the TCV but at "home". Your annual fee covers school fee, uniform and medical support for the child. Furthermore, the parents can come four times a year to the TCV office in order to get a small amount of money for food, clothing and shoes. Since H. H. absolutely wants to avoid anyone to get enriched through a sponsorhip, all these cases get verified and judged every other year anew. If the situation of one of these cases improves, because e.g. one of the parents have found a job, the sponsorship is immediately stopped. You, as sponsor, will be contacted by the TCV and asked to transfer your sponsorhip to another needy child.
