The
mission of the Tibetan Children's Village is to ensure a cultural
identity as well as leading its children to become a self-reliant
member of this world by providing:
- Love and care to needy children
- Good modern and traditional Tibetan education
- A child centered learning environment
- Opportunities to preserve the rich Tibetan Culture
Since the TCV is a charitable organization,
it is almost entirely dependent on the kindness and generosity of
international aid agencies and individuals who are sympathetic to
the Tibetan situation and would like to help. To generate an internal
source of revenue, to never forget about the one goal and to become
independent and self-reliant, TCV initiated handicraft centers.
Eventhough Tibetan parents
give as much as they can to help carry the financial burden, there
are so many needy children to look after and with the overwhelming
flood of new refugees, it is impossible for the TCV to fulfill all
financial responsibilities without the help from outside.
